It is apparent that using email to market your goods and services has quickly become one of the most effective and efficient ways of getting new clients and keeping in touch with your current customers. Pay per click, banner ads, and most other methods of marketing online can prove costly over time, and they do not provide a steady clientele. On other hand, email marketing gives you the ability to send messages to those who have subscribed to your mailing list. Email marketing is becoming a popular method to announce products, mostly because there is definately a high response and it is usually very cost effective A successful email campaign has the potential to deliver astounding results for the marketer who fully understands its value. But to reach those heights, your marketing endeavor must be planned thoroughly and you must have a solid course of action to build a list of interested prospects. Email promotions can help you raise your sales while building a database of loyal customers, no matter what type of product or service you offer. I will discuss in this article the steps necessary to build just such a profitable email marketing campaign.
The first and foremost thing is to make sure that the subject line you choose should be catchy and eye grabbing. You have an extremely limited amount of time to grab the readers attention – a few seconds at most. If it doesn’t catch their attention, it is either passed over or deleted. So be sure that your subject line is something that will lure the recipient into wanting to open the email to learn more. For example, instead of just putting in something as plain as “Weight Loss Tips”, you should have “10 Weight Loss Tips that Can Help You Shed Your Pounds” in its place. The next thing you have to do is make sure your content starts with something very interesting. You may ask why. The most common email clients, like Yahoo, Microsoft Outlook, etc., have a “preview pane” that allows a reader to view just a narrow strip of an email message without actually opening it. Apart from this, it’s important to be consistent in your efforts when dealing with email marketing. Be sure to send your emails consistently at the time stated to your recipients. If for example, you choose to send out your newsletter each week on Tuesdays at 2 pm, be sure to continue that schedule. Your supporters will be waiting and expecting your email then and you do not want to keep them waiting. Doing so will show them that you are serious and will be more likely to open any promotional emails you send to them. It also shows respect for your audience and professional on your part when you are consistent with your mailings.
As soon as visitors sign in to your site, you should start communicating with them. Their sign-in gives you permission to email them, and you will use your communications to form a relationship with your enrollees. The most important part of your email marketing campaign is to deliver a highly informative ezine/newsletter to them and give them regular updates. It is important that you do not send emails too frequently, or people will be likely to unsubscribe from your list. It is recommended to not send emails more than once or twice a week. The final part of your email marketing campaign is to keep in touch with your subscribers by providing them with informative tips, surveys, etc. You should work hard to keep your list fresh and relevant, which can only be accomplished by effective follow up with your subscribers and then you will have long term results.
